Cesc Gay

Cesc Gay (actually Francesc Gay i Puig ; * 1967 in Barcelona , Spain ) is a Spanish film director and screenwriter with a Catalan mother tongue.

Life

Gay studied cinema at the Escuala Municipal de Audiovisuales de Barcelona (EMAV) and was the director of the film Hotel Room in 1998 together with the Argentinean Daniel Gimelberg . The film Kràmpack followed in 2000 , before he became the creator and coordinator of the scripts for the television series Jet lag for the Catalan broadcaster TV3 in 2002 .

In 2003 Gay's Film of the Year, En la ciudad , Eduard Fernández , María Pujalte and Leonor Watling played among others . Eduard Fernández received the Spanish Goya Film Award for Best Supporting Role , Mónica López was nominated for best supporting actress and Gay himself was nominated for best director and best adapted screenplay.

Gay's next film Ficció / Ficción with Javier Cámara received several awards. His feature film Una pistola in cada mano shows, among others, Luis Tosar and Ricardo Darín in the leading roles together with Candela Peña .

For the film Friends for Life (Truman) , Gay received the Goya 2016 for best director and best screenplay; the film was also recognized as best film.
