action

The successful investment banker Davis Mitchell loses his wife in a tragic traffic accident and is desperate. Nevertheless, his father-in-law Phil puts pressure on him. But he follows his advice to take everything apart in order to relieve pressure and then restart. In a steadily increasing destructiveness, Davis cuts his belongings short and sweet, and he turns his blunted insides outward. But then a new woman comes into his life. Davis met Karen through a letter of complaint he wrote to a vending machine operator. Davis finds a soul mate in the similarly unhappy employee, and a deep relationship develops between the two. With her help and that of her son Chris, Davis rebuilds his life and leaves the past behind. Together with the pubescent, however, he still has to take apart some of his possessions beforehand.
