In 2013 his second feature film, the thriller Eye for an Eye with Christian Bale , Casey Affleck , Woody Harrelson , Zoë Saldaña , Forest Whitaker , Willem Dafoe and Sam Shepard came to the cinema. It was produced by Ridley Scott and Leonardo DiCaprio , but only got 52 percent approval on Rotten Tomatoes and was called a flop with just $ 5.3 million in revenue on the opening weekend .

Cooper's next film, Black Mass , was about the life of gangster James J. Bulger . The main role was played by Johnny Depp . The film was shown out of competition on September 4, 2015 at the Venice International Film Festival .
