Mika Taanila (born May 22, 1965 in Helsinki ) is a Finnish documentary and experimental filmmaker.

life and work

Mika Taanila studied from 1989 to 1992 at the TV and Film Department of the Polytechnic Institute in Lahti . In 1994 he founded the Helsinki Film Coop . Taanila has been Program Director for the Avanto Helsinki Media Art Festival since 2000 . He is a member of the film collective Kinotar . Mika Taanila is a professor at the Academy of Fine Arts in Helsinki.
