action
After a long, unhappy marriage, the parents of fourteen-year-old Sarah, Paul and Christine separated. The world of her adolescent daughter Sarah is therefore upside down, her behavior is unpredictable.
Sarah disrupts the new paths in life because Paul goes on a concert tour with his band and mother Christine goes on vacation with friend Michael. Paul drives Sarah to a summer camp. On the way, Sarah surprisingly demands to take her best friend Charlie with her on the way. The two friends get into an argument on the way. Paul stops in a parking lot. The two girls disappear into a forest. After a while of waiting, Paul goes in exasperation in search of Sarah and Charlie. Suddenly he hears Sarah screaming and finds her on the edge of a dam. But Charlie has disappeared. Her backpack is floating in the reservoir. In a panic, Paul drives to the police and wants to report the accident when Sarah openly confesses: She pushed her friend off the dam herself. The concert tour is canceled and Paul tries to shield Sarah. When their calls go unanswered, Sarah's mother Christine also breaks off her vacation and goes to Paul and Sarah. Since there are no witnesses and they want to protect the unstable Sarah, they decide together to cover up the act as an accident. Nobody should know about this in order to protect Sarah from being charged with conviction and running the gauntlet at school. But Sarah turns out to be a little monster: Happy to see her parents reunited, she shows no remorse. When Charlie's father Kuszinsky shows up looking for her and becomes suspicious, the situation gets increasingly out of control.
