Eva Neymann
Eva Neymann ( Ukrainian Є́ва Не́йман ; born June 21, 1974 in Zaporozhye , Ukrainian SSR ), is a German - Ukrainian director .
Life
Eva Neymann was born as the daughter of an engineer and a musicologist. She studied psychology and social education at the National University of Zaporizhia .
In 1993 she emigrated to Germany. After studying law in Marburg , she went to the German Film and Television Academy Berlin (DFFB) in 1997 , which she graduated in 2006. In 2000 she worked as an intern for director Kira Muratova while filming the film People Second Class .
The film On the River was shot in Russian in the Odessa film studio and screened at the Moscow International Film Festival in 2007 (the first film made in Ukraine after 1991).
Ways of God , Neymann's graduation film at the DFFB, was honored with the FIRST STEPS Award in Germany in 2007 . The film Song of Songs , which won two Golden Duke awards at the 2015 Odessa Film Festival, is based on a story by the Jewish writer Sholem Alejchem .
