Ferdinand Alexander Otto von Bialcke (born September 25, 1803 in Bütow , † June 29, 1876 in Berlin ) was a Prussian lieutenant general .

Life

Ferdinand was the son of a sergeant in the hussar regiment "von Blücher" and later district tax collector and a born Woedtke.

He joined the Prussian Army's 14th Infantry Regiment as a volunteer in 1818 . He was promoted to Portepeefähnrich in 1821 and to Second Lieutenant in 1822 . In the years 1825/28 he was commanded to train at the General War School and rose to prime lieutenant in 1836 . From 1835 to 1838 he was assigned to the topographic office and in 1838 to the General Staff . In 1839 he was transferred to the 2nd Infantry Regiment with a patent from 1832 and commanded as an adjutant to the General Command of the 2nd Army Corps . In 1839 he was an adjutant in the Gouvernement of Danzig and was released from his command in 1840. Also in 1840 he was promoted to captain and company commander in the 2nd Infantry Regiment. He was transferred to the 13th Infantry Regiment in 1842 with a patent from 1831 , where he rose to major in 1844 . In 1844 Bialcke became the commander of the 2nd Battalion in the 16th Landwehr Regiment in Iserlohn and in 1849 switched to the 27th Infantry Regiment . In 1849 he took part in the suppression of the revolution in the Palatinate and Baden . In the same year he was honored with the Commander's Cross II. Class of the Order of the Zähringer Lion . Shortly after his promotion to lieutenant colonel in 1852, he became commander of the 27th Infantry Regiment, where he was promoted to colonel in 1853 . Also in 1853 he received the Order of the Red Eagle III. Class with swords on the ring. In 1854 he was in command of Erfurt , in 1856 in command of the 38th Infantry Regiment and in 1857 in command of the 11th Infantry Brigade. In the same year he rose to major general and received the Order of St. Stanislaus, First Class. In 1859 Bialcke received the Order of the Red Eagle, 2nd Class with Swords on the Ring, and in 1860 was entrusted with the leadership of the 3rd Division , where in 1861 he was actually commander and advanced to lieutenant general. After being awarded the star for the Order of the Red Eagle, 2nd Class with Oak Leaves and Swords on the Ring in 1862, he received the Order of the Red Eagle, 1st Class with Oak Leaves and Swords on the Ring in 1864. In the following year, Bialcke was put up for disposal with a pension and, after his death in Berlin in 1876, was buried in the Invalidenfriedhof .

Bialcke was also a Freemason ; From 1845 to 1848 he was the hammer leading master of the Masonic lodge Zur Deutschen Rigkeit in Iserlohn.
