Patricia Rozema
Patricia Rozema (born August 20, 1958 in Sarnia , Ontario , Canada ) is a Canadian director and screenwriter .
After graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy and English Literature from Calvin College in Grand Rapids , Michigan , the daughter of Dutch parents worked as an assistant to various directors and was increasingly active as a screenwriter in her home country. Her celebrated lesbian drama When the Night Begins was nominated for the Golden Bear at the Berlin Film Festival in 1995 , and she received an Emmy for the episode “6 Gesten” in the series Yo-Yo Ma, Inspired by Bach .
