Alejandro Lerner

Alejandro Federico Lerner (born June 8, 1957 in Buenos Aires ) is an Argentine singer and songwriter. During his career Lerner played in different bands, founded the band La Magia and worked with international artists such as Luis Miguel , Paul Anka and Celine Dion .

Life

Lerner was discovered in 1974 by Raúl Porchetto who led him to join a short-term project called Reino de Munt . In 1977 Lerner was involved in Gustavo Santaolalla's band Soluna . In addition, Alejandro Lerner developed his skills as a performer working with well-known Argentine singers León Gieco and Sandra Mihanovich .

In 1981 Lerner formed a band called La Magia, in which he played with bassist Hernán Magiano, guitarist Damián Figueroa, saxophonist Oscar Kreimer and drummer Luis Querón. In 1982 Alejandro Lerner y La Magia was published. A year later the band broke up. He started a solo career, releasing Todo a Pulmón that same year and Lerner Tres in 1984.

In 1999 a compilation of his greatest hits was released under the title 20 Años (20 Years).

In 2002 he worked with Carlos Santana , the song Hoy Es Adiós was released in the album Shaman by Santana.
