Aleksandar Nikačević ( Serbian - Cyrillic Александар Никачевић ; born January 26, 1978 in Kraljevo ) is a former Serbian cyclist .

Career

Aleksandar Nikačević spent his time in the U23 age group in Italy with the GS Padovani team and was able to celebrate a success in 1999 by winning the overall ranking of the Giro del Friuli . From September he drove as a stagiaire for the Italian team Mapei-Quick Step .

In the 2000 season he won the overall ranking of the Tour of Serbia . At the end of the year he drove again as a stagiaire this time for the Alessio team , with whom he signed a professional contract for the next season. In 2002 he again won the overall ranking of the Tour of Serbia, a stage win in the Chinese stage race Tour of Qinghai Lake and the Yugoslav championship in road racing, so that he was able to finish the season among the 500 best drivers in the UCI world rankings .

Some time after the end of his professional career, Nikačević was active as a team manager , in 2005 for the Serbian-Montenegrin Continental Team Aerospace Engineering Pro Equipe and in 2006 for the Serbian Continental Team Team Endeka .

In mid-July 2009, Nikačević was arrested during a large-scale police raid in Italy. He and another 30 suspects are accused of illegally trafficking doping substances, including the EPO preparation CERA .
