Raška ( Serbian Рашки округ, Raški okrug ) is an administrative district in south-west central Serbia .

It consists of the following municipalities ( opštine ):

According to the 2002 census, this district has 300,274 inhabitants. The main administrative seat is the city of Kraljevo .

The Žiča Monastery is located in the vicinity of Kraljevo . The spiritual center of the Serbian Middle Ages was completed in 1220 and developed into the center of Serbian archiepiscopia.

The Studenica Monastery was completed at the end of the 12th century and is a generous donation from the Serbian Prince Stefan Nemanja . It has rich decorations and houses numerous icons and a large library. After the prince became a monk and moved to Hilandar in the monastic republic on Mount Athos , his eldest son Stefan Nemanjić took care of the monastery.

A foundation of King Stefan Uroš I is the Sopoćani monastery from 1260 , which is an example of European painting of the Middle Ages and was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1979 .

The economic focus of the district is made up of industry (Magnohrom), the locomotive and rail factory in Kraljevo, wood processing (Jasen) and the company "Elektro Srbija".
