Braničevo ( Serbian Браничевски округ, Braničevski okrug ) is an administrative district in the northeast of the Serbian heartland. The population in the entire district is 253,492.

The main administrative seat is in the city of Požarevac , which performs a large number of communication and administrative tasks. There is also a large traffic and motorway junction near Požarevac.

In the middle of the 19th century , during the period of Serbian emancipation, Požarevac and Kragujevac became the second seat of the then Prince Miloš Obrenović . At this time he also had a number of monuments erected in Požarevac to commemorate him.
