The Okrug Kosovo ( Serbian Косовски округ Kosovski okrug ) is an administrative district according to the Serbian administrative structure in the center of the province of Kosovo and Metohija . For today's subdivision of the administrative districts in Kosovo , the actual Okrug Kosovo was divided into the administrative district Pristina and the administrative district Ferizaj .
On February 17th, 2008 the parliament of Kosovo declared independence from Serbia. Since then, the status has been controversial internationally and the Serbian district division is only theoretically existent.
The area consists of the following municipalities:
- Podujevo ( Albanian Podujeva )
- Pristina ( Albanian Prishtina )
- Uroševac ( Albanian Ferizaj )
- Obilić ( Albanian Obiliq / Kastriot )
- Glogovac ( Albanian Drenas )
- Lipljan ( Albanian Lipjan )
- Kosovo Polje ( Albanian Fushë Kosova )
- Štimlje ( Albanian Shtime )
- Štrpce ( Albanian Shtërpca )
- Kačanik ( Albanian Kaçanik )
The administrative seat was the city of Pristina .
