The Okrug Kosovo ( Serbian Косовски округ Kosovski okrug ) is an administrative district according to the Serbian administrative structure in the center of the province of Kosovo and Metohija . For today's subdivision of the administrative districts in Kosovo , the actual Okrug Kosovo was divided into the administrative district Pristina and the administrative district Ferizaj .

On February 17th, 2008 the parliament of Kosovo declared independence from Serbia. Since then, the status has been controversial internationally and the Serbian district division is only theoretically existent.
