Nišavski okrug ( Serbian - Cyrillic Нишавски округ ) is an administrative district in the eastern half of the Serbian heartland.

It consists of the following municipalities ( opštine ):

According to the 2002 census, the district has a population of 382,461. The main administrative seat is the city of Niš .

In the vicinity of Niš there is also a monument that is unique in this form, the Ćele Kula skull tower . It was built by the Ottomans from the bones and skulls of opposing warriors who died in the Battle of Čegar in 1809.

The economic focus of the region is formed by the electrical industry in Niš, mechanical engineering, tobacco factories and the textile company "Niteks".
