Aleksander Lasoń (born November 10, 1951 in Siemianowice Śląskie ) is a Polish composer , pianist and conductor .

Together with the Silesian composers Eugeniusz Knapik and Andrzej Krzanowski , Aleksander Lasoń belongs to generation '51 (Pokolenie '51). Together they made their compositional debut at the Młodzi Muzycy Młodemu Miastu music festival in Stalowa Wola . In word and tone they turned against the then stylistically dominant avant-garde , such as the sonorism of Krzysztof Penderecki and other composers who are assigned to the so-called Polish School of Composers. Lasoń composes both chamber music(7 string quartets) as well as orchestral works (4 symphonies), the performances of which he is often the conductor himself. He lives and works in Katowice .
