Aleksys Churginas
Aleksys Churginas (born June 7, 1912 in Jonava , † May 4, 1990 in Vilnius ) was a Lithuanian poet and translator .
Life
After the "Aušros" high school in Kaunas , Churginas studied from 1931 to 1936 at the Vytauto Didžiojo universitetas , from 1936 to 1939 at the University of Paris and Grenoble University in France. From 1945 to 1948 he taught foreign literature at the Kauno universitetas .
In 1929 his first poems were printed. His poetry has been translated into Russian.
Churginas translated from Latin, English, French, Russian, Italian, Spanish, German, including Faust von Goethe (1960 and 1978).
