Alessandro Bausani

Alessandro Bausani (born May 29, 1921 in Rome , Italy ; † March 12, 1988 , ibid) was an Italian Iranist , Islamic scholar and linguist .

Bausani taught as a full professor of Persian language and literary studies at the Oriental Institute of the University of Naples L'Orientale (Istituto Universitario Orientale di Napoli) and at the La Sapienza University in Rome. Bausani researched the languages ​​of the Islamic Orient, Persian and Hindustan literature and the history of Islamic religion in Persia . He also wrote writings on the Baha'i religious community to which he belonged. He left his personal academic library to the Baha'i World Center in Haifa , Israel .
