Alessandro Cane

Alessandro Cane (born November 4, 1945 in Riva del Garda , † September 23, 2010 in Rome ) was an Italian television director .

Life

Cane took an early interest in the theater and founded the experimental theater group Artaud in 1966 . Two years later he played for Bernardo Bertolucci and Liliana Cavani in two films and began working as a director for the TV series Sperimentali per la TV , where he was soon seen as a promising talent. His first film received the Premio Merconi for best director. He stayed with this medium in the following decades and shot several others, not only successfully, but also at festivalsaward-winning television films. At the turn of the millennium he turned away from his previously always committed films and also directed for television series .

He also shot a number of documentaries and industrial films.
