Aletes (son of Aigisthus)
Aletes ( Greek Ἀλήτης ), the son of Aigisthus , was a king of Mycenae in Greek mythology .
After Orestes killed Aigisthus and his own mother Clytaimnestra for the murder of his father Agamemnon , he had to leave the country because of the iniquity of matricide. As in Mycenae arrived the wrong message, Orestes was in Tauris of Artemis been sacrificed Aletes took over the kingdom. Orestes returned, however, killed Aletes and was crowned king.
