Alejandro "Alex" Rodríguez Gorrin (born August 1, 1993 in Santa Cruz de Tenerife ) is a Spanish football player .
Career
Alex Gorrin played in the youth academy of the English club AFC Sunderland between 2011 and 2014 . Most recently he was the team captain of the reserve team. At the age of 20, he moved to New Zealand in 2014 to join Wellington Phoenix , who played in the Australian A-League . He made his professional debut on October 12, 2014, the 1st matchday of the 2014/15 season against Perth Glory . He was in the 1: 2 defeat in the starting eleven of Scottish coach Ernie Merrick . With Wellington Gorran reached the final round in the same season in which they lost to eventual champions Melbourne City FC in the quarterfinals. The Spaniard played 25 league games in his first season as a professional. In the 2015/16 season he played one game less for the team, which was only penultimate in the table. A year later, the final round was missed as seventh in the final table. On February 9, 2017, Gorran scored his first professional goal when he scored 1: 2 in a 1: 3 against Sydney FC .
In June 2017 Gorrin signed a contract with the Portuguese first division club Boavista Porto . Until January 2018 he remained without commitment for the club and then moved to Romania to Sepsi OSK Sfântu Gheorghe . In the country's highest league, the central midfielder was active twelve times for the promoted team in the second half of the 2017/18 season .
In June 2018, the 24-year-old Gorrin moved to Motherwell FC in Scotland.
