Peter Ciaccio

Peter Ciaccio (* 1975 in Belfast ) is an Italian Methodist theologian, author and film critic.

Ciaccio, who has an Italian father and a British mother, graduated from the Liceo classico Pilo Albertelli in Rome and then studied political science at La Sapienza University and theology at Facoltà Valdese . There he received his doctorate in 2004 on the basis of a dissertation on the pastor characters in the films of Ingmar Bergmans . He completed further studies at Sarum College in Salisbury . From 2005 to 2011 Ciaccio was pastor of a Waldensian church in Forano and a Methodist church in Terni . Since then he has been pastor of the Waldensian congregation in Palermo .

Ciaccio is also known as a writer and film critic. He is a regular contributor to Riforma magazine and has published several books on Christian motifs in popular culture, e.g. B. in the texts of the Beatles , the books about Harry Potter and the films of the Star Wars series . He is a member of Interfilm and co-founder of the Associazione Protestante Cinema "Roberto Sbaffi" and was a member of the ecumenical jury at the Locarno Festival in 2002 . His film reviews are broadcast by the Protestant radio stations Radio Voce della Speranza and Radio Beckwith Evangelica .
