Alex Hanimann

Alex Hanimann (born October 30, 1955 in Mörschwil ) is a Swiss artist. He is professor for visual communication at the Zurich University of the Arts .

Life

Alex Hanimann grew up in Mörschwil. After attending the primary school teacher seminar in Rorschach, he trained as a drawing teacher at the Zurich University of the Arts from 1977 to 1981 . Since the end of this training he has been working as a freelance artist. He was a co-founder of the St. Gallen Art Gallery, created in 1987 . From 1997 to 2004 he was a member of the Federal Art Commission . Since 2003 he has been teaching at the Zurich University of the Arts.

He lives in St. Gallen and has been married to Marianne Thurnheer since 1982 and has three children with her.
