Alexander Robert "Alex" Hirsch (born June 18, 1985 in Piedmont , California ) is an American cartoonist , director , film producer , voice actor , art director and screenwriter . He invented the animated series Welcome to Gravity Falls .

Life

Hirsch invented the Welcome to Gravity Falls series for the Disney Channel . He speaks the voices of Gronkel Stan, Old Man McGucket, Bill Cipher, Soos, and other small supporting roles in the series. Hirsch started out as a writer and storyboard artist for the series The Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack , where he worked with his animator friends JG Quintel and Pendleton Ward .

Hirsch later became an author, storyboard artist and creative consultant for the animated series The Fish Club , which he also created for television with Maxwell Atoms . He portrayed Clamantha, her father, Fumble, one of the fish police and a Ferret. In 2013, Hirsch cast the voice of Officer Concord the Juice Time Juice Box Flavor Cop in the episode Trilogy of Terror by Phineas and Ferb on Disney Channel.
