Alexander "Alex" Jordan (* 1947 in Saarbrücken ) is a German graphic designer , artist and photographer . He lives in Paris and Berlin .

Life

Alex Jordan studied at the Düsseldorf Art Academy as a master student of Joseph Beuys . In 1976 he became part of the Grapus group , which consisted of graphic designers. After the group broke up in 1989, Alex Jordan founded the Studio Nous travaillons ensemble with Ronit Meirovitz and Anette Lenz . Both had already worked with him at Grapus.

In 1985 Jordan founded the photography collective Le bar Floréal with Noak Carrau and André Lejarre . Since 1989 he has been a member of the graphic artist club Alliance Graphique Internationale . Between 1993 and 2013 he taught visual communication at the Kunsthochschule Berlin-Weißensee . From 2000 to 2009 he was a member of the artistic direction of the international poster festival in Chaumont.
