Alex LoRe

Alex LoRe (* around 1990 ) is an American jazz musician ( alto saxophone , composition ) of modern jazz .

Live and act

LoRe initially dealt with classical music as part of his training, before turning to jazz - supported by his mentors Lee Konitz and James Moody . The first recordings were made in 2008 with The Jazz Conceptions Orchestra . In the following years he played a. a. in Daniel Jamieson's Danjam Orchestra, with the Lucas Pino No Net Nonet, also with Paul Jones, the Annie Chen Octet and Yunan Su. In 2013 he recorded his debut album Dream House (Inner Circle) with George Garzone , Desmond White and Colin Stranahan ; his compositions reflect influences from European classical music, post bop and pop. The album More Figs and Blue Things (Inner Circle) followed in 2016 . In the field of jazz, he was involved in ten recording sessions between 2008 and 2018. For Ben Ratliff ( The New York Times ), LoRe is a saxophonist who "creates the connection with the value of over 70 years of contemplative, clear and gentle jazz playing."
