Alexander-Patterson Sherry

Alexander-Patterson Sherry (born February 8, 1908 in Banknock , † 1966 ) was a Scottish football player .

Career

Sherry first played for the Scottish club Denny Hibernian before moving to the English second division club Preston North End in 1929 ; at Preston the defender was a substitute player and came in a time when substitutions and substitutions were not yet possible, in three years on 14 contested second division games.

In the summer of 1932 he was signed by the French first division club Olympique Marseille , who was to co-found professional football in France for the 1932/33 season . Sherry was on the field when Marseille played a game in the newly created division for the first time in a 2-1 win against Olympique Lille on September 11, 1932; however, his career for Marseille ended on October 16 of the same year when he was on the pitch for the fourth and last time in a French first division game in a 1-1 draw against FC Sète .
