Alexander Alexandrowitsch Koslow ( Russian Александр Александрович Козлов ; born January 2, 1981 in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk , Soviet Union ) is a Russian politician . Since 2018 he has been Minister for Development of the Far East of the Russian Federation .

Life

Kozlov graduated from the Blagoveshchensk branch of the Moscow Academy of Entrepreneurship as a legal scholar in 2003 . He also studied mining engineering at the Far Eastern Federal University . From 2000 to 2007 he worked in Raichichinsk ( Amur Oblast ) for the company “Amur-Coal” as legal advisor and assistant to the General Director for Legal Matters, Head of the Legal Department and Deputy General Director for Legal Matters and Corporate Security. In 2007 he was employed as a branch director of the company "Russian Coal" in Gukowo ( Rostov Oblast ) and in 2008 headed the Blagoveshchensk company branch. From 2009 to 2010 he was appointed General Director of “Amur Coal” in Raichichinsk.

On February 2, 2011, Kozlov switched to civil service and was appointed 1st Deputy Minister of Construction in Amur Oblast. On December 23 of the same year, after the ministerial authority was divided, he took over the management of the Ministry of Municipal Housing. On February 14, 2014, he became the first deputy head of the city of Blagoveshchensk and took over his duties on February 20, after his retirement. In April 2014, he won the intra-party election of United Russia as a candidate for mayor of the city of Blagoveshchensk. On September 14, 2014, he won the mayoral election with 38.68% of the votes cast and officially took up his work as mayor of the city on September 19. On March 25, 2015, he was temporarily appointed governor of Amur Oblast by ukase from the President of the Russian Federation. On September 13, 2015, Kozlov was elected governor of the oblast with 50.64% of the votes cast in early elections and took office on September 20 as the country's youngest oblast governor to date. On May 18, 2018, he was appointed Minister for Development of the Far East by presidential decree.

Kozlov is active in the political council of the regional branch of the United Russia party. He has been married to Anna Loginowa since 2015 and has no children.
