Alexander Bengt Magnus Bard (born March 17, 1961 in Motala ) is a Swedish artist , author , songwriter and singer .

Life

After finishing school, Bard studied in the United States and in Amsterdam . Then Bard returned to Sweden and studied economics from 1984 to 1988 at the Stockholm School of Economics . While studying, Bard took an interest in philosophy and began writing as a writer. Bard gave lectures from 1996 and specialized in the social implications of the interactive revolution in the field of social theories. Together with the Swede Jan Söderqvist, Bard wrote three books.

Musical career

In addition to his work as a writer, Bard began working as a musician in 1982. His first single, Life in a Goldfish Bowl , was released in the same year under the name Baard .

For his second album, Bard founded the Swedish band Army of Lovers in 1987 . The band also belonged to Jean-Pierre Barda and La Camilla . With Army of Lovers, Bard had international success and over 20 hits that were placed across Europe, including Crucified , Obsession (both 1991), Israelism (1993) and Lit de Parade (1994). With this band, Bard realized five studio albums and produced over 20 music videos.

In the spring of 1996 the band was disbanded. Bard then started another band with Vacuum , which Marina Schiptjenko and Matthias Lindblom sang along with. Vacuum's first debut single, I Breathe , was one of the best-selling singles in Sweden in 1997 and hit the singles charts in Italy. The following singles were less successful and after two albums Bard left the band.

After a short restart of the band Army of Lovers in spring 2001 for some new tracks and the collection of their greatest hits, Bard began to write and produce songs for the band Alcazar for their first two albums. Since 2005, Bard has been producing for the band Bodies Without Organs (BWO) with the singers Marina Schiptjenko and Martin Rolinski . In April 2010 the first EP of his new project Gravitonas was released . Three more EPs followed. The release of a first album is planned for May 2011.

In addition, Bard wrote other songs for various other Swedish solo interpreters since the 1980s, including for Ola Håkansson and Tim Norell , in the early 1990s for Anders Wollbeck and Per Adebratt and in particular for Anders Hansson and Henrik Wikström . Bard is a co-founder of Stockholm Records.

Bard is gay , lives in Stockholm and is a member of the Zoroastrian religion .
