Alexander Bengtsson

Alexander Bengtsson (born September 27, 1995 ; died March 24, 2016 in Ödeshög ) was a Swedish politician of the Moderata samlingspartiet .

Bengtsson was politically active in Uppsala County . He was known for his work against racism and homophobia and received several death threats as a result. Local media in the Uppsala area received death threats against Bengtsson. On March 8, 2016, he was attacked and injured with a knife in his own home. In Gottsunda , a district of Uppsala, the platform Tillsammans for Uppsala organized a demonstration against racism in solidarity with Bengtsson. Bengtsson himself gave a speech at the demonstration.

On March 23, 2016, Bengtsson was informed that he was suspected of having set off false alarms three times , but denied this. The police stressed that none of the other 50 or more charges brought by Bengtsson would not be questioned.

The following day a body was found in a burning car near Ödeshög; three weeks later, DNA tests confirmed it was Bengtsson. The police could not find any evidence of a crime.
