The church

Ödeshög is a place ( Tatort ) in the province of Östergötland County and the historical province of Östergötland . It is also the capital of the municipality of the same name .

Ödeshög is located near Lake Vättern . In the village are the old church of Ödeshög, a home courtyard and the old restaurants around the market square. The two closest, larger cities are Linköping 66 km away in the northeast and Jönköping 67 km in the southwest. The former Swedish national soccer player Klas Ingesson grew up in Ödeshög.

The finds from the Stone Age and rock carvings that were made in the area around Ödeshög indicate an early settlement of the area. Ruins of medieval buildings have also been discovered.
