Alexander Brailowsky (born February 16, 1896 in Kiev , † April 25, 1976 in New York ) was a Russian pianist who specialized in the works of Frédéric Chopin . He celebrated his greatest successes between the two world wars.
Brailowsky was born in Kiev and later took French citizenship in 1926.
He made his concert debut in Paris in 1919. His first recordings were made in Berlin from 1928 to 1934. In 1938 HMV signed him in London. In addition to his Chopin repertoire, he also played works by Rachmaninoff , Saint-Saens , Liszt , Debussy and others.
Alexander Brailowsky died in New York at the age of 80.
