Under his command from 2007 to 2010 a number of media-effective events occurred. On the Ukrainian side there were unsuccessful attempts in 2007, 2008 and 2009 to get the Mars-75 radio navigation system under their own control at Henichesk . The Ukrainian public prosecutor's office relied on a February 2003 ruling by the Ukraine Supreme Economic Court to transfer the station from the Russian Ministry of Defense to an establishment of the Ukrainian Ministry of Transport. During the Caucasus War in 2008 between Georgia, Russia and the internationally unrecognized republics of South Ossetia and Abkhazia, Klezkow was in charge of the Black Sea Fleet involved in the conflict.

On July 2, 2010 Klezkow was removed from his post.
