Alexander Filippov
Alexander Filippow ( Russian Александр Филиппов ; born September 5, 1984 ) is a Russian cyclist .
Alexander Filippov won a stage at the Giro del Friuli in 2006 . Shortly thereafter, he took second place at the Trofeo Alcide Degasperi and won the Coppa della Pace . At the Russian time trial championship, he finished third in the U23 class. In autumn he drove for the Polish-Italian Continental Team Amore & Vita-McDonald’s as a stagiaire , but did not sign a contract for the coming season. At the UCI Road World Championships 2006 in Salzburg Filippow came fourth in the U23 class time trial. In the 2007 and 2009 seasons he won the overall ranking of the Giro del Friuli.
On March 25, 2007 Filippov was tested positive for the blood doping agent erythropoietin at the Piccola Sanremo race and was banned for two years.
