Alexander Fyodorovich Timontayev
Alexander Fedorovich Timontajew ( Russian Александр Фёдорович Тимонтаев * 1. February 1905 ; † 21st August 1969 ) was a Soviet theater - and film - actor .
Life and accomplishments
Timontayev made his film debut in 1926 in Ветер ( Weter ), followed a year later in В большом городе ( W bolschom gorode ) his only leading role . In the first years of his career, he was mainly seen in dramas and films with socio-political content, including in Трипольская трагедия ( Tripolskaja tragedija , 1926) and in fighters (1936). In the latter and in Das Wunderpferdchen (1941) he gave his only major roles in internationally shown films. Timontayev managed the majority of his 46 film engagements before the outbreak of the German-Soviet War , in which he served in the Air Force .
In 1946 he continued his career in the role of a sailor in cruiser Varyag and as a soldier in Сын полка ( Syn polka ), a film adaptation of Valentin Katajev 's novel Son of the Regiment . 1956 followed with Драгоценный подарок ( Dragozenny podarok ) another film directed by Alexander Rous . In 1959 Timontayev was also seen in an adaptation of Maxim Gorkis Foma Gordejew , after he had already participated in 1938 in В людях ( V ljudjach ), a biographical work about the author. In the 1960s, Timontayev took up only a few offers, mainly in fairy tale films . He said goodbye in 1968 with two small roles in fire, water and trumpets .
Timontayev shot four times each with directors Mark Donskoi and Alexander Rou , but also stood in front of the camera for Olga Ivanovna Preobrazhenskaya, Viktor Vladimirovich Eisymont and Alexander Ptushko .
In addition to his film work, Timontayev also appeared at the Moscow State Theater of Cinema Actors . He died at the age of 64 and was buried in the Donskoy Cemetery in Moscow.
