Alexander Jomini
Alexander Jomini ( Russian Александр Генрихович Жомини ; * 1814 ; † 1888 ) was a tsarist Russian diplomat and politician.
Life
Alexander Jomini was the son of Antoine-Henri Jomini .
At the end of the Crimean War , Jomini went on a special mission to Berlin and in 1861 to Paris . From 1875 Alexander Jomini was Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Mikhailovich Gorchakov , who held office during the Russo-Ottoman War (1877–1878) .
On 12 July 1888 Jomini sought Friedrich Pourtalès , charge d'affaires of the German Empire in Saint Petersburg , and warned that if Austria's provocative policy in the Balkans would not change, this would have fatal consequences.
The diplomat Michael Konstantin Onu (Михаил Константинович Ону, 1835-1901) married Jomini's stepdaughter and lived in the household. The sons from this marriage were:
- Andrei Onu, Chargé d'affaires in Bern
- Alexander Onu (1865–1935), historian and Ambassador to the Court of St James’s
- Konstantin M. Onu, charge d'affaires in Washington
They were dismissed from their posts on November 26, 1917 by Leon Trotsky .
