Alexander Kanengoni

Alexander Kanengoni (* 1951 in Enkeldoorn , Southern Rhodesia , † April 12, 2016 in Harare ) was a journalist and writer from Zimbabwe .

Life

Kanengoni was a guerrilla and companion of Zimbabwean President Robert Mugabe , whose extensive land reform he supported. In his book Echoing Silences he describes incidents during the liberation war against the white minority government of Ian Smith . With his heroic and idealizing writing style, he supported the development of a Zimbabwean identity.

Alexander Kanengoni worked at the Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation as Head of Research Service .
