Alexander Klee (art historian)

Alexander Klee (* 1964 in Heidelberg ) is a German art historian and exhibition curator .

Life

Alexander Klee studied art history , ancient history and classical archeology at the University of Tübingen and the University of Saarbrücken , where he also received his doctorate. He has specialized in researching the painters Adolf Hölzel , Emil Jakob Schindler , Georg Karl Pfahler and artists of the classical modern age. He is a co-founder of the Adolf Hölzel Foundation and maintains this painter's catalog raisonné. Klee is a freelance exhibition curator and has written numerous catalog articles.

Alexander Klee worked for several years at the Schlichtenmaier Gallery in Stuttgart and has been the curator for the second half of the 19th century at the Belvedere in Vienna since 2010 .
