Alexander Imeretinsky ( Russian Александр Константинович Имеретинский ., Scientific transliteration Aleksandr Konstantinović Imeretinskij ; Georgian ალექსანდრე კონსტანტინეს ძე ბაგრატიონ-იმერეტინსკი * 24. December 1837 near Moscow ; † 17th November 1900 ) was a Russian prince and general of the Russian army .

Alexander Konstantinowitsch Imeretinski came from a mediatized Georgian princely family who formerly ruled Imeretia . The Imeretinskis were a sub-branch of the Georgian Bagratids .

He was educated in the Page Corps, and in 1855 joined the Life Guard Pioneer Division as an ensign. In 1856 he came as a lieutenant in the 14th Grusin Grenadier Regiment in the Caucasus , attended the General Staff Academy from 1859 to 1862 and was then transferred to the General Staff of the Guard.

He took part in the Polish war of insurrection , became a colonel and adjutant, in 1869 general and chief of staff of the Warsaw military district, in 1872 assistant to the inspector of the rifle battalions. In August 1877 he became the commander of the 2nd Infantry Division assigned to the army in front of Plevna. On September 3, 1877, he and Mikhail Dmitrijewitsch Skobelew stormed the city of Lowatz , now Bulgaria, and then took part in the Battle of Plevna (Bulgaria) and at the end of December in General Gurko's second Balkan crossing .

After the peace he was appointed Chief of the General Staff of the Army in Turkey (in Nepokoychitzky's place) and Adjutant General. From 1883 he was commander of the VI. Army Corps in Warsaw and in 1885 received the highest directorate of military justice as Procurator General.

From 1896 to 1900 he served as Governor General of Warsaw in the Weichselland (Poland).
