Oleksandr Kwitashvili ( Ukrainian Олександр Квіташвілі , actually Aleksandre Kwitaschwili / Georgian ალექსანდრე [სანდრო] კვიტაშვილი ; born November 15, 1970 in Tbilisi , Georgian SSR ) is a Georgian - Ukrainian manager and politician. He was Minister of Health of Georgia from 2008 to 2010 and Minister of Health of Ukraine from December 2, 2014 to April 14, 2016.

Life

Kwitashvili graduated from the History Faculty of Tbilisi State University in 1992 with a degree in "Contemporary History of Europe and the United States" with honors. In 1993 he received a Masters Degree in Public Administration from the Robert F. Wagner School of Public Administration at New York University .

He was Minister of Health, Labor and Social Affairs of Georgia from January 31, 2008 to August 31, 2010, and Rector of Tbilisi State University from December 27, 2010 to June 12, 201 On December 2, 2014, Oleksandr Kvitashvili received Ukrainian citizenship and was appointed Minister of Health of Ukraine in Yatsenyuk's second cabinet on the same day . The post of health minister was not reassigned after a cabinet reshuffle to the Hrojsman cabinet and so his term of office ended on April 14, 2016.
