Alexander Reichardt (born April 17, 1825 in Paks , † March 14, 1885 in Boulogne-sur-Mer , France) was an Austrian opera singer (tenor).

Life

He made his debut in Lviv in 1842 as Rodrigo in Otello, ossia Il moro di Venezia by Gioachino Rossini . He took singing lessons from Angelica Catalani and Giovanni Gentiluomo was a member of the ensemble of the Vienna Court Opera from 1843 to 1851. In the following years he had successful engagements all over Europe, including in Berlin , Paris and London . Reichardt also composed some songs that were very popular at the time. After losing his voice , he settled in Boulogne sur Mer, where he died in 1885.
