Alexander Ritschl

Alexander Georg Wilhelm Ritschl (born August 18, 1861 in Bonn , † January 6, 1945 in Freiburg (Breisgau) ) was a German surgeon and orthopedist .

The son of the Protestant theologian Albrecht Ritschl graduated from high school in Göttingen and studied medicine at the University of Göttingen until his doctorate in 1887 . He went to Freiburg as an assistant doctor and qualified as a doctor in surgery in 1891. There he founded the Institute for Orthopedics , which he headed until 1924. In 1896 he became ao. Professor, 1920 honorary professor. Then he headed a private institute. In March 1933 he signed the declaration of 300 university lecturers for Adolf Hitler . He also dealt with the medical aspects of piano playing .
