Alexander Schläffer

Alexander "Xandi" Schläffer (* 1899 ; † November 18, 1984 ) was a Salzburg crib maker and the first custodian of the local history museum at Schloss Ritzen .

His large Pinzgau Nativity Scene was exhibited at the 1968 World Exhibition in Mexico City . In 1999 the traditional nativity scene exhibition of the folklore department of the Salzburg Museum Carolino Augusteum was dedicated to him. In December 2003 his crib "Bethlehem is located in the Pinzgau" was also chosen as the work of art of the month.
