Alexander Suleiman

Alexander Suleiman (* 1970 in Glen Dale , Marshall County (West Virginia) ) is a German cellist .

biography

Suleiman received his first violoncello lessons from Eldar Issakadze. In addition to studying in Germany and Russia with Natalia Gutman and Daniel Schafran, he also received impulses from Nikolaus Harnoncourt , which shaped him significantly. As the protégé of Prof. Eleonore Schoenfeld, he teaches at the University of Southern California USC.

Alexander Suleiman is a frequent guest at international music festivals in Finland, Germany, Israel, Austria, Russia and the USA. In 1998 Suleiman received first prize in the International Johannes Brahms Competition in Austria. Since then, concerts have taken him through Europe, Asia and North and South America. Composers such as Franz Hummel , Uwe Berkemer or Susan Oswell entrust the world premiere of their works to him, which not infrequently allows him to be dedicated to them.

Suleiman lives in Los Angeles and Ingolstadt .
