Alexander Uber

Alexander Uber (* 1783 in Breslau ; † 1824 in Breslau) was a German composer and conductor .

Life

Uber was a student of Johannes Jäger and celebrated success as a cello virtuoso . In 1823 he became conductor of Prince Heinrich zu Carolath-Beuthen . A cello concerto, overtures, variations for cello and orchestra, various instrumentals and songs by him have come down to us.

He was the brother of the Kreuzkantor Friedrich Christian Hermann Uber .
