Alexander of Domarus

Alexander von Domarus (born September 1, 1881 in Berlin , † May 4, 1945 in Malchow (Mecklenburg) ) was a German medic.

Career

Domarus attended the French high school in Berlin and studied medicine in Freiburg im Breisgau, Berlin and Munich, where he was a student of the internist Friedrich von Müller . He received his doctorate in Munich in 1907 .

In 1912 Domarus became director of the medical department of the hospital in Weißensee near Berlin. In 1931 he became a private lecturer and completed his habilitation . In November 1934 Domarus became an associate professor at the University of Berlin . In December 1934 he became director of the I. Internal Department in the Horst Wessel Hospital .

He was a member of various medical societies, such as the Berlin Medical Society , the Hufeland Society Berlin and the German Society for Internal Medicine . From 1930 he was co-editor of the Berliner Klinische Wochenschrift .

Two days before the Red Army marched in , Domarus committed suicide in Malchow.
