Alexander von Kleist
Alexander Georg Baron von Kleist (born August 6, 1799 in Dobelsberg, Kurland , † September 12, 1859 in Mitau ) was a Kurland state official.
Life
Alexander von Kleist began studying law at Heidelberg University in 1818 and became a member of the Corps Curonia in the same year . In 1821 he moved to the University of Bonn and in 1822 to the University of Leipzig. After completing his studies, he was assessor at the Hauptmannsgericht from 1825 to 1829 and from 1829 to 1834 at the Oberhauptmannsgericht in Tuckum. In 1834 he became captain in Friedrichstadt and in 1842 Selburgscher Oberhauptmann in Jakobstadt. From 1851 to 1856 he was 2nd and from 1856 to 1859 1st youngest councilor of the Courland High Court in Mittau. In 1859, the year of his death, he was elected Land Marshal.
