history
On November 2nd, 1885, the entrepreneur Alexander von der Nahmer founded a foundry in Remscheid . The company became successful with the production of a hand-operated meat grinder , which was discovered by Nahmer in America and reproduced under license in Germany. Other products for everyday life and machines for butcher shops were also manufactured. After the company's founder died in 1888, his sons Wilhelm and Adolf took over management of the plant and in 1899 brought the company Alexanderwerk AG to the stock exchange.
