Alexandros (son of Achaios)
Alexandros ( Greek Ἀλέξανδρος ), son of Achaios, was a governor in the Seleucid Empire of the 3rd century BC.
As the brother of Laodike I , Alexandros was a son of Achaios the Elder and through him perhaps connected to the Seleucid dynasty. Apparently Alexandros had already served under Antiochus I (281–261 BC), provided that he is identical with the person of the same name who was appointed by the king as governor ( satrap ) in Lydia at an unknown time .
During the fratricidal war of his nephews King Seleukos II and Antiochus Hierax , Alexandros had sided with the latter and made his residence town Sardis available as a base for him. His brother Andromachos and his son, the younger Achaios , had fought for the king.
