occupation

Age of Heroes ( English for, the age of the heroes') is a British Action - War of the director and screenwriter Adrian Vitoria from the year 2011 .

action

In 1940, in the middle of World War II , Nazi Germany had great advantages over Great Britain in radar technology. This nips attacks in the bud. Major Jack Jones is assigned to put together a special unit and steal this highly developed radar technology in Norway, which is occupied by the German Wehrmacht .

One of his candidates is Corporal Syd Brightling, who, however, is in the military prison in Kent with his undisciplined comrade Corporal Bob Rains . When Jones picks him up, Rains forces him to ride at gunpoint, which means a safe execution for him if he is arrested again. But Jones and instructor Sergeant MacKenzie lead him back on the right disciplined path. The mission starts together with radar specialist Roger Rollright.

Their plane is already being shot at over Norway and crashes, so that the unit has to jump with parachutes. From the beginning, SS soldiers are on their heels. When Jones and his men want to meet their Norwegian contact, they come across a woman named Jensen, who has taken his place after his exposure.

The attack on a German radar station was not without difficulties, but the special unit was able to take possession of the radar technology with losses. But the soldiers miss the submarine at the agreed destination that was supposed to bring them back to Britain. It comes to a clash with their German persecutors, who have Corporal Brightling hostage in their power. Major Jones shoots him to avoid possible torture. Jones sends Rains, Jensen, Mortensen and Rollright ahead to escape to Sweden. He and MacKenzie stop the Nazis and pay with their lives. Mortensen also falls, but the other three survivors make it to Sweden and successfully complete the mission.

Reviews

"Conventional war adventure based on outdated narrative and thought patterns."

“Proven British gangster film actors like Danny Dyer ( The Business ) and Sean Bean ( Essex Boys ) report to the home front in riot gear and go into a fight à la The Dirty Dozen or Kelly's Heroes , only a little cheaper, with less than splendid backdrops. Quite interesting in the first half, increasingly clichéd in the second, but always action-packed and exciting until the end, B-war action film with extra-thick pathos and Bond author Ian Fleming as co-character.
