Alexandru Negrescu was a Romanian football player . He played a total of 57 games in the Divizia A . With Venus Bucharest he won the Romanian championship in 1940.

Career

Negrescu joined Telefon Club Bucharest in Divizia C in 1936 . After promotion in 1937, he secured relegation with his club in the 1937/38 season. He then joined local rivals Luceafărul Bucharest , before Venus Bucharest signed him in the summer of 1939 . He became a regular with the reigning champions and won his first and only title with the championship in 1940 . In the cup final of the same year he lost with his team Rapid Bucharest only in the third replay. In the 1940/41 season he could not defend his title with Venus. After the season the game was interrupted. He then joined Juventus Bucharest in 1942 . After the end of World War II , Negrescu played for Ciocanul Bucharest , where he ended his career in 1947.

National team

Negrescu played eight games for the Romanian national team . It was first used on October 20, 1939 in a friendly against Hungary . Then he was not considered by national coach Virgil Economu for two years. In the friendly against Slovakia on October 12, 1941, he returned to the circle of the national team. He was on the pitch in all of the international matches in 1942.

After the Second World War , Negrescu was part of the Romanian squad for the Balkan Cup in 1946 , where he was on the pitch in all three games and was the team captain. On October 13, 1946, he played his last international match in the last tournament game against Albania .
